Training for Forestry Legislation Implementing Authorities

More than 160 people participated in the trainings from 44 state forest enterprises where the majority introduced forestry specialists. The serial trainings which commenced from Sep.12 till 04 of Oct. focused on better preparation of the necessary documentation for filling in case of violation, poaching, application of legislative knowledge acts on administrative and juridical instances representing interests of forestry as well as addressing the current issues on compatibility of livestock grazing with stand regeneration in the forest areas. The discussion of these trainings also emphasized the need to rise awareness of the accountability of forestry inspectors, guards, and other officials in case of abuse of their legal competencies and the consequences associated to such abuse. The main objective of the trainings was designed based on newly developed Normative Legal Acts on protection, reproduction, and sustainable use of land resources to boost the knowledge level of management staff (directors of regional, districts, cities) and other relevant employees on sustainable forest management. Thus, strengthening law enforcement can enable on integrative approach and study of land use types which allows reducing the degree of forest degradation, minimizes conflicts between different land users.

The series trainings were delivered by LLC ALMAR through the regional program “Integrative and Climate sensitive land use in Central Asia” founded by the German development cooperation to the officials of the Tajik Forest Agency, forestry inspectors and lawyers (HR specialists).


Participants view this training as a very useful event and a special opportunity to improve their knowledge and law enforcement skills for practicing more efficient procedures, underlined Davlatali Sharifzoda, deputy director of Forestry Agency at the opening of the last/final training day.
